I made an error, I was thinking of a quote by Jamie Keller, current(2002) CEO of Turner Broadcasting, who previously built up Fox huge, and created the WB (TV network, not the whole company of course.. :))

From Cableworld:
“Jamie Keller: Because of the ad skips…. It’s theft. Your contract with the network when you get the show is you’re going to watch the spots. Otherwise you couldn’t get the show on an ad-supported basis. Any time you skip a commercial or watch the button you’re
actually stealing the programming.

CableWorld: What if you have to go to the bathroom or get up to get a Coke?

JK: I guess there’s a certain amount of tolerance for going to the bathroom. But if you formalize it and you create a device that skips certain second increments, you’ve got that only for one reason, unless you go to the bathroom for 30 seconds. They’ve done that just to make it easy for someone to skip a commercial.

CW: What if I’m using my PVR to rewind a story on CNN or pause during Moneyline With Lou Dobbs? That’s good for you, isn’t it, if I can keep watching the network when I might otherwise miss the shows?

JK: Is it good for me? It’s good to make it easier for consumers to watch the programs they want to watch. I’m not opposed to consumers getting a program without commercials in it. But they have to create a new model that charges them for that programming the way HBO charges
them.”

So you heard it, if you piss for exactly 30 seconds, and you don’t watch the commercials you are stealing the programming.

Michael Eisner is very into taking our fair-use rights away, and for all DRM. I’m not saying DRM is bad. Make it so I can’t copy my DVD’s, fine. As long as I can still create a media server so I can have all my movies streamed over my home network to any video device. That definitly falls under fair-use! I’m fine with DRM on CD’s. But I still better be able to rip them to MP3’s (no embedded DRM) so I can listen to them in on my car stereo, since I don’t have a CD player. Eisner wanted to take away our rights to fair-use. DRM isn’t bad, but thus far has always been implemented in a way that takes away our rights. In my opinion of course… (maybe it’s time to take this to the forum…)

I’m almost afraid to ask, but what’s wrong with Michael Eisner??? I mean besides the fact that all of his “kid” movies contain way too much adult humor, several fallic symbols are found in their movies, and EVERY SINGLE PRINCESS from the princess movies wears OFF THE SHOULDER DRESSES in the end of the move? And he hires pervs like Robin Williams and Eddie Murphy to represent “heros” doing “right"?

Anybody see in the opening scene of robots, the water tower looks like a prince albert???? I dunno, maybe it’s just me.

Yup… my dad and I were talking about it for a couple hours tonight, along with the evils of Disney (Michael Eisner), and the gravel pit. Basically it comes down to the simple fact that most American’s are stupid. Seriously, it’s like all the people who think that Wal-Mart is great, and don’t realize the grand scheme of things. They won’t care about what Sony does, because they are stupid.
